Plant Exchange

This Coming Weekend on the 2nd of June, I will be attending the Bozrah, Ct plant exchange.
There is already a link for the event which they have generously posted my blog address too.

Here is the link for the event.

I will have quite a bit of plants started from seed and seeds collected from various plants. I also will have some Spring bulbs shown on this forum.

Memorial Day Pictures

Memorial weekend has passed and I spent my day at the cemetery paying homage.
I should also be nominated for a purple heart for this weekend up at the cabin.
Anyway, here are some pictures I have from my "wonderful" weekend up at Gardner Lake.

Garden Foxglove at Auntie Catherine's

This following Foxglove is from my Garden with Weigela florida 'Red Prince' ready to bloom in background.

Rodgersia

White Bleeding Hearts

This is a Variety of Silene which is from my New York garden.  I brought it up to this garden and its doing well for now.  Likes dry conditions but we shall see if it comes back next year.

Gardner Lake-Memorial Day Weekend

Will be going up to the lake this weekend so if anyone wants to stop by and see what I am giving away, plants wise or seeds, feel free.   I will probably be digging up plants to make room for plants from East Greenbush.  Bernie's plants which she gave me are off limits.  Its 17 Knickerbocker Ave, a dirt road, almost last house on right, just toot horn.

Just a taste of what I have.

Gave away a lot already and this picture is two days old.
More in greenhouse not in view

Disturbing dahlia

While Bernie was unwrapping and sorting out her Dahlias last weekend, she found this one.
I think she used the word 'disturbing' to describe this one.
My mind went somewhere else with a description.

'Weekend at Bernies' Plant Sale

This plant sale was similar to general admission music concerts in the 70's.   Hard core stuff.
The "Plant Nuts" first get too look over what plants are of interest.

 Starting Line.

I couldn't take pictures because I had to grab the plants I wanted.  It went quick.  So cheap and worth it.  Bernie had a nice strategic plan with grabbing the ones we wanted before the whistle, and it worked.

Bernie's Garden of East Greenbush

I am going to start out by saying that the following pictures in no way can capture the complexity and beauty of my cousin's garden up state New York .  I just recently visited it for the first time this past weekend and was awestruck.  I can see where the OCD runs in the family.  Its apparently a very good family gene to have.
Sean came by last night and reminisced about our delinquent past which was entertaining.

Very impressed with their general workmanship inside the house which they did themselves. They did the work that a general contractor should be envious of.

I am just going to just show numerous pictures of her garden and you will also see 'Sadie' the dandelion picking dog.  For the 'Record', there are no weeds and on the subject puts my garden too shame with her weed control.  Then again I don't own a vegan dog.
I recommend making the trip up.
If your invited, of course.

Will start out with the front view

Around the chimney

Next few pictures are of Brian's garden area, has a lot of "veggies" growing.  He also has Hops growing up posts in background for his secret "beer brewing" operation.  Good stuff.

All wood structures built by Brian himself.
Even Built a Pergola? Right?  In pics #4 and #5 coming, following next picture .

Good old Sadie Posing

Ticks

********

Be on the lookout on your body for ticks after venturing into the woods or in your own back yard.  I had another one on my leg on the golf course and a friend of mine got one on the back of her neck just by doing yard work in a residential area.
They are out in full force now with that mild winter we just had.

Bleeding Heart/Bishops Weed Seedlings

I have plenty of these seedlings up at my Conn garden.  I dig enough around small seedlings root system and transplant into small pot with soil and water good for next couple of days or so they will recover.
please see picture below.

They were wilting for awhile but sprang back to life.
