Here is a little photo of some Hens and Chicks that basically grow in rock cracks with little soil.
Some creeping phlox and grape hyacinth are mixed in as well. These hens and chicks are all from a small batch my dad gave me a few years ago, probably about five plants. They have spread out along this rock formation with my help transplanting babies along the way, where it cannot be seen from this photo. An amazing versatile plant it has become. During growing season I am picking plants out of ground and sticking where ever there is a new spot for them to spread.
